This past Friday, I went with some friends to see
Gran Torino (great movie, I'd recommend it if you can handle more than a few f-bombs). "Becoming a man" is a theme throughout the movie...which made me think - what exactly does "being a man" mean? I have a few of my own thoughts, but I want to know what yall think first.
So I ask...what do you think it means to be a man?

I believe Christ gave us the best example of what it means to be a man. After all, he was 100% God, and 100% MAN. Being a man means doing everything you can to love God and to love your neighbors. I mean truly love them. Of course, that could also define what it means to be a woman. So what is the difference? I think the difference is that a man bears more responsibility to his family, to his friends, and to his neighbors. It means scratching someone else's back, whether or not they scratch yours. That is what it means to be man. At least, that's what I believe right now.
Being a man means being willing to love everyone despite whether they love or hate you and especially to seek after God's heart even if it means being humiliated in the world's eyes, think Stephen from Acts, and after going through humiliation still be willing to give your life and everything else for God, your Savior. I also think being willing to humble yourself and serve others without being prompted.
